Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a joint press conference following talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Zhaparov in Ankara that the leaders discussed the fight against terrorist organizations during the meeting, Haberler.com reported.

He said that the terrorist organization of Fetullah Gulen (FETÖ) poses a threat to the security of both Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. “We agreed that FETÖ poses a threat to the national security of both countries,” Erdogan said, commenting on the results of the talks.

The Turkish leader stressed the importance of cooperation between Ankara and Bishkek in the fight against FETÖ.

“Recent events have once again shown the bloody, dark and filthy face of the FETÖ terrorists. Together, side by side, we will respond to all their threats. I once again expressed Turkey's support to the president, people and state of Kyrgyzstan. We will continue to be close to Kyrgyzstan at every stage of its path to political stability,” Erdogan said.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed the fight against terrorist organizations, including FETÖ, as well as regional cooperation, he said. “We hope to further strengthen our fraternal ties with Kyrgyzstan. We confirmed this during the talks. We discussed all issues, from the fight against terrorist organizations, primarily with FETÖ, to issues of regional cooperation,” the Turkish leader said.
