Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approves the new composition of the government headed by Ulukbek Maripov

The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan unanimously approved the candidacy of Ulukbek Maripov for the post of Prime Minister and the composition and structure of the government proposed by him, Sputnik news agency reported.

Earlier Maripov said that his candidacy had been agreed with President Sadyr Japarov.

Maripov's candidacy was nominated by the Republic-Ata-Zhurt faction, which is part of the majority coalition.

At the plenary session, many MPs supported Maripov, but there were also those who expressed criticism. Maripov said that there will be fewer members of the government, 16 instead of 22. He also assured that reforms and the unification of departments will be carried out.

Ulukbek Karmyshakov, Minister of Economy and Finance Deputy Prime Minister;

Zhenish Asankulov, Chief of Staff of the Government in the rank of Minister;

Ruslan Kazakbaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs;

Assel Chynbayeva, Minister of Justice;

Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, Minister of Health and Social Development;

Almazbek Beishenaliev, Minister of Education and Science;

Kairat Imanaliev, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy;

Boobek Azhikeev, Minister of Emergency Situations;

Ulan Niyazbekov, Minister of Internal Affairs;

Gulmira Abdralieva, Minister of Transport, Architecture and Communications;

Kubanychbek Turdubaev, Minister of Energy and Industry;

Askar Zhanybekov, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources and Regional Development;

Kamchybek Tashiev, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security.

Now the decrees on the appointment of the prime minister and members of the government must be signed by President Sadyr Japarov.

In addition, near the parliament building, a rally was held against the candidacy for the post of Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov and its composition and structure. If on February 2, 3 people took part in a protest action, today there were about 50 of them. They support the candidacy for the post of Prime Minister Artyom Novikov, who occupies the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

Ulukbek Maripov has been the chairman of the Accounts Chamber since 2016. He is 41 years old. He has been working in the civil service for about 20 years in the Parliament, the Ministry of Finance, the presidential office. In 2011-2015, he was an assistant to the head of state Almazbek Atambayev.

President-elect Sadyr Japarov stepped down as prime minister on January 20. Thus, the government automatically resigned, all members of the Cabinet while working with the prefix acting.
