Kyrgyzstan prepares new plans for tourism development

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev held a meeting on the development of the tourism industry of the country. Key representatives of the relevant ministries and businesses took part in the discussion.

The main focus was on improving infrastructure for tourists, creating favorable conditions for investment in the tourism sector and the development of new tourist routes.

Daniyar Amangeldiev noted that tourism is an important component of economic growth and job creation.

“We have identified 156 potential locations for the construction of tourist bases, among which 40 will be launched in 2025. By regions it is proposed to launch bases in Batken numbering 7, Jalal-Abad 29, Issyk-Kul 40, Naryn 34, Osh 23, Talas 10 and Chui 13. This is a chance for all regions to realize their tourism potential. It is important to provide a high level of service, develop unique routes and guarantee safety at all stages of travel,” Amangeldiyev said.

He also instructed to conduct a thorough analysis of each location, assessing the prospects for commercial use and interaction with local communities and investors.

In the course of the meeting the issues of development of the Roadmap for realization of the Tourist Bases project were discussed. According to it, it is proposed to launch one tourist destination in each region of the country. The issues of the mechanism of project implementation, development of specific standards for these destinations and the mechanism of their financing were also considered.
