01.10.2024

Kyrgyzstan's state budget surplus reached 5.5 percent of GDP. Such data are given in the weekly macro review of the Eurasian Development Bank. This is more than three percent better than in 2023 (1.2 percent of GDP). As analysts note, such dynamics creates opportunities for increasing state treasury expenditures.

Domestic experts note that this is a very good trend. All key indicators of economic development of Kyrgyzstan are stable, which allows to increase support for social programs and increase funding for domestic development projects. Experts point out the need not to lose and maintain a steady pace of development, which will create additional opportunities in the republic to strengthen economic stability and increase budget revenues.

In general, the EDB note that in the first half of 2024, the revenues of the republican treasury increased by 21.1%. The drivers of this were the increase in VAT revenues on imports and the growth of revenues of state-owned enterprises.
