Kyrgyzstanis begin to take out less loans

The volume of new loans issued by banks in Kyrgyzstan increased by 30.3% in March 2024. This was reported by specialists from the Eurasian Development Bank.

Lending rates were below average (46.4%) over the past 12 months. The increase in trade loans was 39%, and consumer loans – 24.4%, which is below the average for the last year by 17.3%age points and 27.8%age points, respectively.

“The slowdown in lending is consistent with our expectations of normalisation of domestic demand and stabilisation of economic growth dynamics in the second half of 2024,” analysts emphasise.
