Executive Director of the International Business Council Askar Sydykov at a meeting of the Investment Council asked the Cabinet of Ministers not to delay the launch of public-private partnership projects.
“I would like to note the PPP project for airports. They were supposed to hold a competition there in the summer. But initially the agreement was signed on Bishkek airport. But now they are ready to take the Osh airport as well. I would like to ask the Cabinet of Ministers not to delay PPP projects,” said Askar Sydykov.
In response to Sydykov's statement, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that earlier the head of the IBC also opposed the nationalisation of Kumtor.
“You also spoke at Kumtor before. And those paid only taxes. Now Kumtor pays both taxes and dividends, and we have gold left. Currently, the National Bank already has about 45 tonnes of gold,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.
