Deputy Speaker Bolot Ibragimov meets Azerbaijani Ambassador Latif Gandilov

Deputy Speaker Bolot Ibragimov met today with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan Latif Seyfaddin oglu Gandilov.

As reported by the parliament, during the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including the strengthening of interparliamentary interaction.

"We attach great importance to the further strengthening of friendly and brotherly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, based on the common historical, cultural and spiritual values of our peoples," Bolot Ibragimov said.

Touching upon the issues of interparliamentary cooperation, the Deputy Speaker noted that the Jogorku Kenesh is interested in further expanding cooperation with the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.

"We attach special importance to the activities of parliamentary friendship groups, the exchange of visits by deputies, as well as the interaction of relevant committees of the two parliaments," Bolot Ibragimov emphasised, drawing special attention to the importance of interaction within the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States, which plays a significant role in developing interparliamentary dialogue and strengthening political, economic and humanitarian ties between Turkic states.

In his turn, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Latif Seyfaddin oglu Gandilov expressed interest in the further development of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all directions, including the strengthening of interparliamentary ties.

The Ambassador also provided information about the nomination of the Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova for the post of President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
