Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov published an address on his Facebook page, noting that Kyrgyzstan perceives the UN victory as a sign of high trust from the international community.

"Dear heads of state members of the United Nations!

On 3 June 2026, with your support, the Kyrgyz Republic won a historic victory in the elections of non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council for the period 2027-2028.

Kyrgyzstan views this victory as high trust of the international community, as well as a great responsibility to all member states of the United Nations.

During its membership in the UN Security Council, the Kyrgyz Republic intends to consistently promote priorities aimed at strengthening international peace and security, preventing conflicts, developing preventive diplomacy, supporting the peaceful settlement of disputes, strengthening the role of small and developing states in the international system, and taking into account climate, water, mountain and environmental challenges in the context of global security.

We express our sincere gratitude to all states that supported our candidacy, and confirm our readiness to be a responsible, constructive and open partner in the UN Security Council, acting in the interests of peace, stability and strengthening multilateralism.

The Kyrgyz Republic expresses separate gratitude to the Republic of the Philippines for a worthy participation in the election campaign and constructive competition, which took place in a spirit of mutual respect and commitment to the principles of the United Nations.

Dear heads of state members of the United Nations!

Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration and best wishes of peace, wellbeing and prosperity to your peoples," the head of state wrote.
