The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs citizens of Kyrgyzstan planning to apply for B-1/B-2 category non-immigrant visas (tourist and business) for entry into the United States of America about the introduction of additional requirements by the American side.
According to official information from the United States Department of State, starting from 21 January 2026, a requirement to provide a financial bond ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 US dollar is introduced for citizens of several foreign states, including citizens of Kyrgyzstan. The amount of the bond is determined individually by the consular officer during the interview.
Furthermore, the applicant is obliged to provide United States Department of Homeland Security form I-352 exclusively after appropriate instruction from the consular officer and confirm agreement with the terms of the bond via the United States Department of the Treasury online payment platform, Pay.gov.
The Ministry draws attention to the following:
· the provision of a financial bond does not guarantee visa issuance;
· the bond is non-refundable in the event of a change in immigrant status or exceeding the permitted period of stay in the United States;
· the specified rule applies exclusively to new applications submitted after these changes come into force.
Citizens who receive a visa with a financial bond are obliged to enter and exit the United States exclusively through the following checkpoints:
· Logan International Airport in Boston (BOS);
· John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York (JFK);
· Dulles International Airport in Washington (IAD).
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in refusal of entry to the United States or incorrect processing of departure.
It is noted that the inclusion of individual foreign states in this list is related to a identified high level of visa regime violations committed by citizens of the respective states.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan strongly urges citizens planning to visit the United States of America to familiarise themselves with the updated visa requirements in advance, strictly observe the conditions for obtaining visas and staying in the United States, and avoid violations of the host party's visa and migration legislation.
