President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov spoke today, December 12, at the international forum "Peace and Trust: Unity of Goals in the Interest of a Sustainable Future," dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust (2025), the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality.
In his speech, the Head of State, on behalf of Kyrgyzstan and on his own behalf, extended the warmest congratulations to the fraternal Turkmen people on the significant date – the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
He emphasised that Turkmenistan's neutrality policy ensured internal political stability, social harmony, and laid a solid foundation for the country's progressive development.
Sadyr Zhaparov stated that Kyrgyzstan highly values Turkmenistan's contribution to regional processes, to the strengthening of energy security in Central Asia and neighbouring regions.
In addition, the President added that the gas and energy projects being implemented by Turkmenistan significantly increase the stability of energy supply, expand markets, and create additional opportunities for mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
In this context, he noted the successfully established cooperation between the two countries in the field of electricity supply.
The Head of State also noted the significant potential for cooperation that exists in the field of transport and logistics.
In this regard, the President stressed that Kyrgyzstan is ready to participate in the development of multimodal routes, the expansion of existing corridors, and the creation of new joint logistics chains.
"For our countries, the modernisation of transport and the development of multimodal routes remain key objectives," said Sadyr Zhaparov.
In this context, he emphasised that the implementation of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway construction project, as well as the construction project of the Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Station 1 in the energy sector, are of particular importance.
"Undoubtedly, these and other large-scale projects expand the opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation and open new prospects for the development of our countries," the President stated.
He emphasised that Kyrgyzstan highly values Turkmenistan's initiative to adopt the United Nations resolution on declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Kyrgyzstan actively supported and co-authored it, as it is aimed at strengthening the fundamental principles of international relations – dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect for the sovereignty of states.
Sadyr Zhaparov also noted Turkmenistan's active role in strengthening the unique regional format – the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
He emphasised that this mechanism of direct and confidential dialogue has become an important platform for discussing common challenges and developing coordinated approaches, which is particularly relevant in the current conditions.
"We are convinced that our countries face a common task – to jointly strengthen peace, prevent conflicts, and promote sustainable development," the Head of State stated.
Furthermore, he stressed that Kyrgyzstan invariably supports international efforts aimed at strengthening stability.
The President highlighted that a significant step in this direction was the successful completion this year of the legal formalisation of state borders with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, which made a significant contribution to ensuring regional security and confirmed the commitment to a policy of peace and good neighbourliness.
In conclusion, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the joint efforts of the countries will continue to contribute to strengthening peace and trust in the Central Asian region and developing good neighbourly relations.
