President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today, November 11, received Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk.
They discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda, including in the spheres of trade, economic, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed satisfaction with the active dynamics of political contacts between Kyrgyzstan and Russia and also congratulated Alexey Overchuk on the successful holding of the regular meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Intergovernmental Commission in Bishkek.
Speaking about multilateral cooperation, the Head of State noted that Kyrgyzstan and Russia continue to actively interact within the framework of integration associations: the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk stressed that Kyrgyzstan is a strategic partner and ally for Russia in Central Asia. He added that bilateral cooperation is based on mutual respect, common history, trust, and is multifaceted.
Alexey Overchuk also noted the growth in mutual trade and freight traffic and expressed readiness to make every effort to strengthen allied relations and the progressive development of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
