Eurasian Fund for Stabilisation and Development: Kyrgyzstan has fastest growing economy

15.07.2025

The fastest economic growth in the first quarter of 2025 was recorded in Kyrgyzstan, at 13.1 percent. This was reported by the Eurasian Fund for Stabilisation and Development.

It is noted that Tajikistan is also showing growth of 8.2 percent year-on-year.

The main drivers are construction, stable domestic demand, and growth in remittances.

In Russia, by contrast, GDP growth slowed to 1.4 percent amid a decline in industrial production. Kazakhstan recorded a 5.6 percent year-on-year increase, with quarterly data showing a slowdown in activity after a sharp upturn in late 2024.

The overall budgetary situation remains stable. Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan have budget surpluses.

In foreign trade, the balance improved only in two countries: Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Experts note that this was due to a decrease in imports and an increase in remittances.
