Kyrgyz Cabinet chairman and ambassador of Finland discuss issues of bilateral cooperation

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov received a delegation from Finland headed by Ambassador of Finland to the Kyrgyz Republic with residence in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) Soili Mäkeläinen-Bukhanist and President of Metso Outotec Markku Terasvasara.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, they noted the importance of intensifying political cooperation and organizing mutual visits at the highest level.

In addition, issues of attracting investments from Finnish companies to the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed, including the prospects for cooperation in the field of "green economy", renewable energy sources, mining, and creative economy.

“Today, a number of reforms are being carried out in the country to create comfortable conditions for investors. There is a constant process of improving the legislative framework to improve the investment climate of the republic,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.

In turn, the ambassador expressed the interest of Finnish companies in the implementation of projects in the field of "green" economy, noting the great potential of the Kyrgyz Republic in this direction.

Earlier, representatives of Metso Outotec held a number of meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, Kumtor Gold Company CJSC, Altynken LLC and Stuart Essay and Environmental Laboratories LLC

During the meeting, a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Finnish bilateral cooperation was discussed. In particular, the sidesnoted the importance of intensifying cooperation on the practical implementation of joint projects in the mining industry.

Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their readiness to continue to make joint efforts to further expand cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Finland.
