Sadyr Zhaparov receives Chairman of Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev.

An exchange of views took place on the further strengthening and expansion of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries.

The Kyrgyz president congratulated on the successful completion of the elections to the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

He noted that the dynamics of bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan is at a very high level and Kyrgyzstan is making every effort to further strengthen it.

Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that the visit of Maulen Ashimbaev to Kyrgyzstan would raise the Kyrgyz-Kazakh inter-parliamentary relations to a new qualitative level. At the same time, the importance was noted of intensifying the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Council, the meeting of which is planned to be held in the second half of 2023 and resuming the practice of mutual visits of parliamentary delegations/friendship groups.

In turn, Maulen Ashimbayev thanked the head of state for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan expressed interest in the further development of comprehensive cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

At the same time, he also dwelled in detail on the positive developments in bilateral cooperation, including drawing attention to the important agreements adopted during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan last year, which are being successfully implemented today.

Maulen Ashimbaev congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its successful chairmanship in the EAEU bodies and the beginning of the chairmanship in the CIS in 2023. For its part, Kazakhstan is ready to support the Kyrgyz side in the implementation of all initiatives.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan will continue to develop on a solid foundation of allied relations and strategic partnership.
