Kyrgyzstan plans to bring water to 95% of its settlements in next 5 years

In the next five years, Kyrgyzstan will invest about USD 470 million at the expense of external donors and the national budget and will bring water to 95% of the country's settlements.

According to the plan of the National Development Program until 2026, about 100 villages of the republic will be connected to clean and safe drinking water facilities annually.

To ensure the sustainability of clean drinking water supply, a financial model will be developed for the operation of clean drinking water supply enterprises in a market format with a reliable system of subsidies for vulnerable groups of the population.

Projects:

1) implementation of the World Bank project on the Issyk-Kul, the Osh and the Chui regions (project amount - USS 71.2 million);

2) Implementation of the Islamic Development Bank project in the Jalal-Abad region (project amount - USD 23 million);

3) Implementation of the Islamic Development Bank and Saudi Fund for Development project on the Batken and the Talas regions (project amount - USD 60 million);

4) implementation of the Asian Development Bank project in the Naryn region (project amount - USD32.9 million);

5) Implementation of the project of the Government of the People's Republic of China on the Jalal-Abad region (project amount - USD100 million);

6) implementation of the project of the Government of the Republic of Korea on the Osh, the Chui and the Jalal-Abad regions (project amount - USD100 million);

7) implementation of the World Bank "Water Security" Project for the Issyk-Kul, the Osh and the Batken regions (project amount - USD100 million).
