Extraordinary session of CSTO Collective Security Council held online

An extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council took place via videoconferencing on Jan. 10

On behalf of e President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country Akylbek Zhaparov took part in this event.

At the session, which was chaired by the Republic of Armenia, the situation in Kazakhstan and measures to normalize it was discussed.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov, and Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas.

The leaders of the CSTO member states honored the memory of those killed in Kazakhstan with a minute of silence.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his gratitude to the heads of the CSTO member states for the assistance provided within the framework of the CSTO during the events that took place in the country.

In his speech, Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is sincerely interested in the soonest normalization of the situation and the establishment of peace and order in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz Republic invariably stands for stability, socio-economic development, strengthening of statehood and prosperity of Kazakhstan.
